Overdue new deviantID. 
Since re-watching my childhood favorite anime "Candy Candy" (and watching all the episodes we never got here in Sweden) and reading the manga version for the first time, I've been pretty hooked on shoujo, especially the retro style, so I thought I'd try a self portrait in that style.
To be honest I must say I've never cared much for the style before. The dark, glossy eyes made me think of insects. Scary... Especially when I was a kid. But now I'm seeing the charm in it and I really like it. ^^
I've inked the drawing traditionally with pen and nib, and done the rest in PhotoShop.
